# Perceptle

Perceptle is a free browser game of five short perception tests. It is not a word puzzle. You estimate, lock an answer, and get one average score from 0–100 with a letter grade (S 95+, A 85+, B 70+, C 55+, D 40+, else F). There is no account, no download, no result share, and no leaderboard. Daily results stay in local storage on this device. A streak is consecutive Daily finishes on this device.

## The five tests

1. Count — dots flash in a field (~2 seconds; Friday: longer and moving). Type how many.
2. Track — a ball follows a parabola and vanishes. Tap the ground where it would land. Friday: walls bounce.
3. Angle — drag counterclockwise from a dashed horizontal (0°) to a named degree. Friday can ask for more than 360°.
4. Tempo — four audible beats, then silent beats. Tap (or Space) on the interval. Friday wants off-beats. Sound uses on-beat / off-beat clicks.
5. Split — place a mark at a named fraction or percent from a named end of a line. Friday can overshoot the bar.

## Modes

- Daily: seeded by the local calendar date. The same date always deals the same five puzzles. Puzzle numbers on this site start at #98 on 6 November 2026 and increment by one each local day (including overnight if the tab is left open). Today’s number is shown in the hero and on the game panel.
- Archive: open a past puzzle number.
- Drill: one of Count, Track, Angle, Tempo, or Split with a random seed. Not stored as Daily.
- Keep playing: random five-test practice with today’s Friday/normal rules. Not stored as Daily.
- Streak: consecutive Daily finishes stored in this browser. Not uploaded.
- Friday: if the puzzle’s calendar date is a Friday, each test adds a twist.
